Gov. Rick Scott (R) said in a CNN interview that he would support attempts to defund Obamacare if Congress could replace it with a new health care policy. Scott: “I don’t hear them talking about a replacement bill. Are you suggesting that if Republicans move forward with trying to repeal Obamacare, they need to have a substitute there to fill the need of all the unemployed, all the uninsured rather?” (Miami Herald)
Scott’s opposition to the law is one of his major policy and political attributes, but he’s part of a growing GOP chorus against the defund-or-shutdown plan.
