Whatever Happened to ‘Replace?’

Scott says GOP should only defund Obamacare if it replaces the law, too.

Gov. Rick Scott (R) said in a CNN in­ter­view that he would sup­port at­tempts to de­fund Obama­care if Con­gress could re­place it with a new health care policy. Scott: “I don’t hear them talk­ing about a re­place­ment bill. Are you sug­gest­ing that if Re­pub­lic­ans move for­ward with try­ing to re­peal Obama­care, they need to have a sub­sti­tute there to fill the need of all the un­em­ployed, all the un­in­sured rather?” (Miami Her­ald)

Scott’s op­pos­i­tion to the law is one of his ma­jor policy and polit­ic­al at­trib­utes, but he’s part of a grow­ing GOP chor­us against the de­fund-or-shut­down plan.
