Holland Mayor Kurt Dykstra (R) will not run, releasing a statement saying that the “cost and impact on the party could diminish our chance to achieve the goal: winning the U.S. Senate.” Meanwhile, physician Rob Steele (R) emailed supporters, saying he will “not make any decision to run lightly.”

With Dykstra the latest Republican to pass on the race, we’re still waiting for a few: Oakland County District Court Judge Kim Small (R) still has yet to make a decision, and Rep. Justin Amash (R) hasn’t officially ruled out a run.

POLLING NEWS. A new Mitchell Research and Communications (R) (IVR) poll (Aug. 26; 1,881 LVs, +/-2.2%) shows former Secretary of State Terri Lynn (R) beating Rep. Gary Peters (D), 39-36%. (MLive.com)
