Poll: Syria as a Moral Dilemma

Four in 10 Amer­ic­ans say the United States has a duty to pun­ish gov­ern­ments that use pois­on gas on ci­vil­ians, as Syr­ia is al­leged to have done. Those Amer­ic­ans are more likely to sup­port mil­it­ary ac­tion against Syr­ia, but al­most a third — 28 per­cent — say that the U.S. should do noth­ing in re­sponse.
