Rep. Jim Renacci (R) said last week that Gov. John Kasich (R) is “not involved” in the campaign and “hasn’t responded” to his phone calls. Renacci also said his internal polls shows the race “in the margin of error” and “tightening up every day."
Renacci of Brown: “Our internal polls, he’s not breaking 45 [percent]. Depending on 2014 turnout, I’m up by 1 [percent]. Depending on 2016 [turnout], I’m down by 1. But the thing that’s the same across the board is he’s at 45, 46, 44. That’s not good for a sitting senator who’s been around for 12 years.” (National Journal)
DISPATCH FROM THE STATE. Renacci and Brown “traded shots over health care, the auto bailout and an old scandal during separate meetings this week with the Dispatch editorial board.” (Columbus Dispatch)
