Boston mayor lending a hand in Ohio

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh told The Boston Globe he is flying to Ohio on Thursday in part to help a couple of Democratic congressional candidates: Franklin County Recorder Danny O'Connor, who is running the Aug. 7 special election for the 12th District, and Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Aftab Pureval, who is challenging Republican Rep. Steve Chabot in the 1st District.

Crochetiere drops out after big fundraising haul

Tech executive Bruce Crochetiere dropped out of the open-seat race for New Hampshire's 1st District on Wednesday, WMUR reported. His exit comes just days after second-quarter reports showed he raised the most of any Republican in the field thanks to a personal contribution of a quarter-million dollars.

Poll: Vukmir leads Nicholson in Wisconsin

A Marquette University Law School poll shows state Sen. Leah Vukmir leading businessman Kevin Nicholson in the Wisconsin Republican Senate primary, 34-32 percent. In the Democratic gubernatorial primary, state school superintendent Tony Evers has 31 percent, with no other candidate above 6 percent.
