Businesswoman Sylvia Williams (D) entered the race against Rep. Kevin Yoder (R). “She said she’s worked for banks including Commerce Bank, U.S. Bank in Minneapolis and the Overland Park office of First Tennessee bank.”

“We always put our customers first,” she said in an announcement video. “I believe our country needs a similar approach.”

“Williams, who has southeast Kansas roots, is the latest entry into a crowded Democratic primary.” Teacher Tom Niermann (D), attorney Brent Welder (D) and 2016 nominee Jay Sidie (D) are in the race. Health care advocate Andrea Ramsey (D) dropped out last year after past allegations of sexual harassment surfaced.” (Kansas City Star)
