Former federal prosecutor Conor Lamb (D) “has deviated from his party’s positions on guns and gun safety — and become the subject of a GOP-linked campaign offering him a backhanded ‘thank you’ for his stance. … One week later, Democrats in Allegheny County began receiving an unusual piece of mail. The Congressional Leadership Fund … had created an advertisement thanking Lamb ‘or supporting our Second Amendment rights.’”

“It’s not clear who else is getting the ad, but registered Democrats in Allegheny County are, generally, more liberal than their counterparts across the district. … Conservative voters have gotten a very different message from the CLF. In a door-hanger ad that the PAC has given Republican-leaning voters, images of Hillary Clinton and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi accompany a warning that Lamb ‘wants to impose restrictions on gun ownership and the Second Amendment.’” (Washington Post)

ON THE GROUND. The Progressive Turnout Project launched a GOTV texting program that will target 25,000 likely Democratic voters and urge them to turn out for the March 13 special election. (release)

INVESTING BIG. America First Action, a pro-Trump PAC, dropped more than $830,000 in an ad buy, according to a recent filing. (FEC)
