Boyd to Run Ad in Tennessee During Olympics

CA GOV: The Sacramento County Young Democrats endorsed state Treasurer John Chiang (D). (release)

ID GOV: Idaho First PAC, which is backing developer Tommy Ahlquist (R), is largely funded by a $100,000 contribution from Ahlquist’s father, John T. Ahlquist Jr.

“Carl Forti, a GOP operative who worked with the pro-Mitt Romney group Restore Our Future, filed paperwork in August to create Building Idaho’s Future Inc. … Then it was dissolved on Feb. 5. … Forti’s PAC received a $100,000 donation from the Idaho Land Fund, an organization overseen by J.B. Scott — chairman of the prominent J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation. More than $91,000 of that September donation was returned to Scott in November. Roughly a month later, Scott contributed almost that same amount to Idaho First — a political group launched just four days before Scott got his refund.” (AP) Romney endorsed Ahlquist in October.

NY GOV: “Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said Thursday he wants Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) to be his running mate again in November.” (Rochester Democrat & Chronicle)

TN GOV: Former state economic commissioner Randy Boyd (R) will begin running a new TV ad on Friday, backed by a $500,000 buy, that will air “during the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics and will continue through the Closing Ceremonies on … Feb. 25.” The spot highlights his business background.
