The DCCC added several new districts to its target list, bringing their offensive battlefield to 101 districts. The new additions are seats held by Reps. Don Young (AK-AL), Andy Harris (MD-01), Chris Smith (NJ-04), Steve Stivers (OH-15), Ralph Norman (SC-05), John Carter (TX-31) and Sean Duffy (WI-07). The committee has also expanded its field program. It plans to deploy 33 percent more field staff by Election Day 2018 than in 2016, and will build out voter registration programs in 33 states. The DCCC’s own polling of key districts has been more promising than national trends, showing President Donald Trump underwater not just in the 23 GOP-held districts Hillary Clinton won, but also in the more than 60 districts Trump won, and the 11 where retirements have left the seat open. Democrats are now fielding candidates in all but 12 of the 238 districts held by Republicans, according to Lujan, including in places like Alabama, where Democrats are competing in every single district for the first time in years.” (NBC News)

Democrats May Sue to Keep Collins on Ballot

"Democrats are threatening to take the GOP to court to keep Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.), who’s been charged with insider trading, on the November ballot. New York Democrats believe they have a better shot of flipping the ruby-red, Buffalo-area seat if the embattled congressman’s name stays on the ballot, and want to keep Republicans from replacing him with a potentially less-toxic candidate." According to New York election law, must run for another office, move out of state or die to be removed from the ballot. A local Democratic leader called it "borderline fraud" to keep Collins on the ballot.
