The Republican National Committee spent nearly $276,000 in independent expenditures on GOTV efforts to boost state Rep. Rick Saccone (R). (FEC)

ON THE TRAIL. “Before a crowd of loyal Republicans in Bethel Park, Vice President Mike Pence touted the Trump Administration’s record, blasted” former federal prosecutor Conor Lamb (D) “… and said some nice things about the Republican running in the March 13 special election,” state Rep. Rick Saccone (R). “But much of Mr. Pence’s address focused on touting the Trump Administration’s policy accomplishments,” like “the passage of a tax-cut bill last year, and Mr. Trump’s rolling back of environmental and other regulations.”“Saccone himself spoke for only about two minutes, urging the crowd not to forget the special election but also speaking warmly about the Trump administration and its tax cuts.” (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)
