Ex-Trump Appointee Enters Special Election

Phil Lovas is running to replace Trent Franks

Former Trump appointee Phil Lovas (R) announced that he will run the seat vacated by former Rep. Trent Franks (R) last week. Lovas was briefly a regional advocate within the Small Business Association, a position he took after five years in the state House. (release)

State Sen. Steve Montenegro (R) and former state Corporation Commission Chairman Bob Stump (R) have already declared for the suburban Phoenix seat. The primary will be held on April 24 and the general election on Feb. 27.
