Former Reps. Steven Horsford (D) and Cresent Hardy (R) are both considering runs for their old district, according to Nevada political reporter Jon Ralston. “On the Democratic side, if Horsford, now thriving in the private sector, passes, the natural choice is” state Sen. Yvanna Cancela (D), “who helped elect Kihuen and has a great profile for that district. … Other names will be floated if Horsford and Cancela pass, including” Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani (D). Multiple operatives also suggested former Nevada City Councilman Steve Ross (D) could be a potential candidate if the seat is open.

Rep. Ruben Kihuen (D) is receiving pressure to resign after a former campaign staffer accused him of sexually harassing her last year. He won a three-way primary against former state Assemblywoman Lucy Flores (D) and current NV-03 candidate Susie Lee (D) and enjoyed the backing of former Sen. Harry Reid (D).
