“A poll conducted last month help explains why Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker (D) appears to start with an advantage over his opponents in the Democratic primary for governor: He has solid ratings in his home county — which has the biggest Democratic registration in the state.”

In the poll of county Democrats (Sept. 1-7; 407 Dems; +/-5%) conducted for the Greater Prince George’s County Business Roundtable by Gonzales Research & Media Services, 51% backed Baker, former NAACP President Ben Jealous (D) took 15%, and Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz (D) and state Sen. Rich Madaleno (D) 1%. Baker also “has solid ratings in his home county — which has the biggest Democratic registration in the state,” with the poll showing Baker with a 69% job approval rating.
