Apodaca Runs First TV Ads of Primary

Pearce will take a few months to decide whether to run.

Former me­dia ex­ec­ut­ive Jeff Apo­daca (D) “is the first … can­did­ate up with paid TV ads. The com­mer­cials are cre­ated from an in­tro­duct­ory video he made when he of­fi­cially an­nounced this month.” The ad is backed by “a smallish buy for the week of May 3-9 of $10,000 in the ABQ mar­ket and $5,000 in the El Paso TV mar­ket.”

State At­tor­ney Gen­er­al Hec­tor Bal­der­as’s (D) “polit­ic­al con­sult­ant Car­oline Buerkle says the at­tor­ney gen­er­al will make a de­cision … in ‘the next two weeks.’ In­siders are bet­ting that he de­cides to seek re-elec­tion as AG next year.” (Joe Mo­n­ahan)
