As its name suggests, the panel covers a hodgepodge of issues, recently adding antitrust matters that have ranged from high-tech to railroads. But Park, 38, says Democrats on the subcommittee have found themselves playing “a lot of defense” against Republican efforts to deregulate and slow down the rule-making process. “They like to keep it light” in those areas, he jokes. Raised in New York City, Park has been on staff since 2009, after serving two years as legislative counsel to Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn.
