Laxalt Adviser Reports $1.5M On Hand for Possible Governor Bid

State At­tor­ney Gen­er­al Adam Lax­alt (R) “raised $1.2 mil­lion dur­ing the latest re­port­ing peri­od and enters 2017 with more than $1.5 mil­lion cash on hand as he mulls a run for gov­ernor, ac­cord­ing to a cam­paign ad­viser. … Robert Uithoven … said he raised $1.1 mil­lion of the $1.2 mil­lion between Oct. 15 and Christ­mas dur­ing an ag­gress­ive fun­drais­ing peri­od.”

“Lax­alt’s re­port in­cluded nu­mer­ous max­im­um con­tri­bu­tions of $10,000, both from a wide ar­ray of in­dus­tries such as gam­ing and tech­no­logy and from private in­di­vidu­als. He also gained large con­tri­bu­tions from north­ern­ers, in­clud­ing $10,000 from Jack Stanko of Cham­pi­on Chev­ro­let and from El­dor­ado Re­sorts owned by the Carano fam­ily. Cindy Carano also per­son­ally donated $500. Lax­alt also re­ceived a $5,000 con­tri­bu­tion from” former Sen. John En­sign (R) “and a $2,500 con­tri­bu­tion from” state Sen. Heidi Gansert (R).
