Former RNC Chair Ed Gillespie (R) remains the most well-known candidate in the field of potential replacements to Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D), according to a new Mason-Dixon poll (Jan. 5-10; 625 RVs; +/-4%).
Candidates’ favorable/unfavorable ratings among all voters:
Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam (D): 17-8%.
Former Rep. Tom Perriello (D): 15-6%
Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart (R): 13-7%
State Sen. Frank Wagner (R): 4-1%
Distillery owner Denver Riggleman (R): 2-0%.

Gillespie also fared better than any other candidate in head-to-head matchups with potential general election opponents.

GOOD STOCK. Reps. Bob Goodlatte (R) and Barbara Comstock (R) as well as former Reps. Randy Forbes (R) and Robert Hurt (R) officially endorsed Gillespie. (release) Comstock said in May she would be supporting him.
