American for Prosperity Plans to Drop $125 Million this Year

A “con­fid­en­tial in­vestor” memo out­lines plans for the Koch-backed Amer­ic­ans for Prosper­ity to spend $125 mil­lion on this year’s midterm elec­tions. It’s nearly as much as the parties will likely spend them­selves on the midterms. The money will go to­ward “ag­gress­ive ground, air and data op­er­a­tion.” Cer­tainly much of it will be dir­ec­ted at the Sen­ate, where the group has already dropped $35 mil­lion hit­ting Demo­crat­ic Sens. Kay Hagan of North Car­o­lina, Mary Landrieu of Louisi­ana and Mark Pry­or of Arkan­sas. A sig­ni­fic­ant part of the ef­fort will also tar­get “non-tra­di­tion­al demo­graph­ics” for Re­pub­lic­ans, such as mil­len­ni­al, His­pan­ic and low-in­come voters. (Politico)
