NRCC Names Young Guns Candidates

The Na­tion­al Re­pub­lic­an Con­gres­sion­al Com­mit­tee an­nounced 10 can­did­ates who are part of the “Young Guns” tier of its re­cruit­ment pro­gram. It named Air Force vet­er­an Martha Mc­Sally (R-AZ 02), Miami-Dade County School Board mem­ber Car­los Cur­belo (R-FL 26), former Rep. Bob Dold (R-IL 10), Illinois state Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL 12), former Mas­sachu­setts state Sen. Richard Ti­sei (R-MA 06), Min­nesota state Sen. Tor­rey Westrom (R-MN 07), busi­ness­man Stew­art Mills (R-MN 08), Chester County Com­mis­sion­er Ry­an Cos­tello (R-PA 06), Vir­gin­ia state Del. Bar­bara Com­stock (R-VA 10), West Vir­gin­ia state Sen. Evan Jen­kins (R-WV 03).

The “Young Guns” are all either chal­lengers or open-seat can­did­ates. Dold was elec­ted in 2010 and lost to Rep. Brad Schneider (D) in 2012. Mc­Sally and Ti­sei also ran in 2012. (re­lease)
