President Obama will attend a luncheon in Denver on July 9 to help fundraise for Sen. Mark Udall (D). It’s a joint effort of the DSCC and Udall for Colorado. DSCC chairman Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) is also on the invitation. Udall got some help fundraising earlier this year from Vice President Joe Biden. (Denver Post)

ENDORSEMENTS: The League of Conservation Voters is officially backing Udall in the race, though they’ve already run ads on his behalf tying Rep. Cory Gardner (R) to the Koch brothers. (release)

KEYSTONE: In a state with “extensive oil and gas development and a strong environmental streak,” many interests want to tie Udall down on a Keystone XL vote.

“Observers on both sides have been clamoring to put Udall on record on the pipeline. He voted against a nonbinding pro-Keystone resolution when it came to the Senate floor last year. He managed to sidestep a vote, however, last month when it seemed likely that a bill to fast-track the project would come to the Senate floor. He’s unlikely to catch a break this time around. But rather than siding with one group over the other, Udall is making his vote a judgment call on the approval process rather than the pipeline itself.” (National Journal)

OUTSIDE GROUPS: Senate Majority PAC is buying up air time against Gardner. The group put down a $460,000 buy running June 23 to July 13. (Washington Post)
