Images From Ferguson, Nearly One Week Into Unrest

Ten­sions re­main high al­most a week after the fatal shoot­ing of an un­armed Afric­an-Amer­ic­an 18-year-old, Mi­chael Brown, by Dar­ren Wilson, a po­lice of­ficer in Fer­guson, Mo., a sub­urb of St. Louis. Fer­guson’s pop­u­la­tion is about two-thirds Afric­an-Amer­ic­an, while a heavy ma­jor­ity of the po­lice force is white. There have also been re­ports of Fer­guson po­lice har­ass­ing pro­test­ers and journ­al­ists with tear gas, rub­ber bul­lets, and ar­rest.  Se­cur­ity in Fer­guson has since been handed over to the Mis­souri High­way Patrol.
