Images From Ferguson, Nearly One Week Into Unrest

Aug. 15, 2014, 10:47 a.m.

Tensions remain high almost a week after the fatal shooting of an unarmed African-American 18-year-old, Michael Brown, by Darren Wilson, a police officer in Ferguson, Mo., a suburb of St. Louis. Ferguson’s population is about two-thirds African-American, while a heavy majority of the police force is white. There have also been reports of Ferguson police harassing protesters and journalists with tear gas, rubber bullets, and arrest.  Security in Ferguson has since been handed over to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
