Undocumented Immigrants at the Texas Border

U.S. law enforcement tries to cope with an influx of unaccompanied minors fleeing violence in Latin America.

Thou­sands of un­doc­u­mented im­mig­rants have been flood­ing in­to Texas from Mex­ico and Cent­ral Amer­ica over the dec­ades, but a re­cent flare-up of vi­ol­ence has sent the num­bers soar­ing. Un­ac­com­pan­ied minors from El Sal­vador, Guatem­ala, and Hon­dur­as have in­creas­ingly be­come a prob­lem, filling U.S. Cus­toms and Bor­der Pro­tec­tion pro­cessing cen­ters.
