Former HP CEO Carly Fiorina’s (R) “recent swing through Iowa included a handful of intimate engagements, which allowed her to show a softer, more personal side.”

Fiorina: “These smaller, more one-on-one gatherings are very important (to my campaign) because a debate is a contrived environment, the setting is orchestrated. … [B]ut when you’re speaking at someone’s house people get to see whether you’re friendly or not and see the real you, really. These sorts of events are also important because I get to hear from others in a more personal way and hear what they’re going through.” (Des Moines Register)
