Former RNC deputy chief of staff Wells Griffith (R) is holding two events in Washington on Wednesday, a breakfast meet-and-greet at BGR Group’s headquarters and an evening fundraiser at Cornerstone Government Affairs’ offices, according to invitations obtained by The Hotline. And he’s getting an early boost from some of his former colleagues. Several of the hosts and sponsors for the fundraising event are current and former RNC staffers themselves, including Treasurer Tony Parker, National Finance Committee director Lindsey Drath, National Committeeman Ron Kaufman, former regional political director Lanny Griffith, Eagles director Kirstin Hopkins, adviser/former Chief of Staff Jeff Larson, staffer Lauren Kirshner, direct mail fundraiser Katie Phillips, deputy director for member events and relations Tory Maguire, adviser/counsel Jonathan Wacklwaki and former staffer Tiffany Waddell. Former colleague or not, it’s interesting that so many members of the RNC staff are lining up this early (and this publicly) behind Griffith in an eight-candidate Republican primary.
