Stanley Hubbard, a major supporter of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) before he dropped out, donated the maximum to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), “making Bush the fifth Republican candidate the Minnesota media mogul has given to after Walker’s downward spiral began.”
“Asked why he gave to Bush, Hubbard called him a ‘very good man,’ and he showed little concern about Bush’s recent tumble in the polls in a race that has been very unpredictable so far.” (Washington Post)
KICKSTARTING AN IOWA TRIP. Bush picked up three endorsements from prominent Iowa Republicans right before he kicked off his longest Iowa visit yet.
“West Des Moines Mayor Steve Gaer, the leader of the largest suburb in Polk County and a supporter of … Walker; Rob Bacon, a state representative who backed” former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R); “and Jeff Lamberti, a former Iowa Senate leader and one of the most sought-after Iowa Republicans who had not yet landed on a candidate, are now endorsing Bush.”

A FAMILY AFFAIR. Bush’s son, Jeb Bush Jr., “will headline a Tallahassee fundraiser Friday and former first lady Laura Bush will host fundraisers in Winter Park and Palm Beach later this week.”
“The Bush campaign intends to bring out the family’s heavy hitters this month. It has scheduled 29 fundraisers in October and both former presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush will participate in raising money.” (Tallahassee Democrat)
