Bentivolio’s Evil Twin?

Rigell gets good press for Syria letter, but rollout isn’t without slip-ups.

Rep. Scott Ri­gell (R) got some good press cov­er­age this week for pulling to­geth­er 116 sig­na­tures on his let­ter to Pres­id­ent Obama, ur­ging the pres­id­ent to get au­thor­iz­a­tion from Con­gress be­fore en­ga­ging in Syr­ia. “But the let­ter wasn’t a com­plete suc­cess for the con­gress­man or his of­fice.” In vari­ous re­leases an­noun­cing new sig­nat­or­ies, Ri­gell’s of­fice mis­spelled the names of Rep. Michelle Bach­mann (R-MN) and Raul Lab­rador (R-ID), and re­ferred to Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-MI) as “Rep. Jim Bentivolio.” The most em­bar­rass­ing mis­take: The head­line re­ferred to Libya, not Syr­ia. (Roll Call)
