Rep. George Holding (R) trailed former lieutenant governor nominee Linda Coleman (D), 44-43 percent, in a Civitas Institute survey. The poll (Sept. 5-8; 528 LVs; +/-4.9%), conducted by SurveyUSA, found 10 percent undecided. The poll used IVR and also a questionnaire shown to voters on their electronic tablet or smartphone. Independents broke for Coleman 43-33 percent.
President Trump's approval was underwater in the district at 40/54 and his approval among independents was 35/58. (release) The president won this district by 12 points.
