Sen. Ted Cruz (R) led Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D) 41-36 percent in a University of Texas poll (June 8-17; 1,200 RVs; +/-2.8%). Neal Dikeman (L) got 2 percent. Cruz’s job approval was 39-41 percent and a favorability of 41-42 percent. O’Rourke’s was 37-24 percent. (Texas Tribune)

“After touring shelters that house some of the thousands of migrant children separated from their parents under President Donald Trump’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy,” Cruz and Sen. John Cornyn (R) “reaffirmed their commitment to keeping kids with their parents after they cross the border — so long as future immigration policy better deters people from entering the country illegally.” (Texas Tribune)
