FreedomWorks Joins Pro-Rosendale Effort

The tea party group is running digital ads and raising money for the Republican.

FreedomWorks launched a Facebook ad buy for state Auditor Matt Rosendale (R) on Friday. The group placed a $5,000 ad buy on Thursday, its first expenditure on the race. (ProPublica)

A FreedomWorks spokesman said Friday the ads target “potential Republicans and conservatives primary voters with a pro-Matt Rosendale messages asking them to turn out and vote” in Tuesday’s primary.

He said the group also raised “nearly $20,000” for him. Rosendale’s FEC records show FreedomWorks Victory 2018 transferred at least $10,000 to his campaign in April. (Hotline reporting)

FOR THE RECORD. The Club for Growth also reported Thursday spending $44,000 on Wednesday to place its digital ad targeting Air Force veteran Troy Downing (R). (ProPublica)
