Nunes Challenger Has Raised $1M in Q1

CA-22: Fresno County Deputy Dis­trict At­tor­ney An­drew Janz (D) has raised “more than $1 million so far in 2018 with just three days left in the first quarter.” (CNN)

CA-39: Nonprofit founder Andy Thorburn (D) launched a digital ad that includes some of President Trump’s most controversial comments, before pivoting to Thorburn who says he will vote to impeach Trump. The spot includes clips of Trump talking about issues such as the Charlottesville rally and his nuclear button. (release)

Several other Democrats are running, including former Obama official Sam Jammal (D) and lottery winner Gil Cisneros (D), in the race to replace retiring Rep. Ed Royce (R).

CA-45: Six members of California’s congressional delegation, including Reps. Ami Bera (D-07) and Linda Sanchez (D-38), endorsed UC-Irvine law professor Dave Min (D). Bold PAC, the political arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, also backed Min. (release)

CA-49: Real estate investor Paul Kerr (D) released an ad focused on college affordability, which will run on broadcast TV, cable, and online district-wide. In the spot, Kerr recounts his experience working full-time while attending San Diego State University and still graduating with $20,000 in student loan debt. (release)

Kerr is one of several Democrats angling for retiring Rep. Darrell Issa’s (R) seat.
