Lottery winner Gil Cisneros (D) released a TV ad “highlighting Cisneros’ advocacy and efforts to prevent gun violence by standing up to the NRA.” In the ad, titled “No Place,” Cisneros argues for universal background checks and an assault weapons ban. (release)

LEGAL ACTION. “On Tuesday, the Cisneros camp indicated its willingness to accept” the new ballot designations submitted by his opponents nonprofit founder Andy Thorburn (D) and former Obama official Sam Jammal (D) to Secretary of State Alex Padilla, and “drop the legal challenges.”

Cisneros campaign manager Orrin Evans: “What we ask is that all candidates play by the rules and say who they actually are. The secretary of state’s rejection of those descriptions highlighted the adherence to those rules.” (Fox News)
