Former hedge fund manager David Stemerman (R) has hired a team of consultants for his bid, including campaign manager Patrick Sweeney.

Mike DuHaime of Mercury will be his political adviser, Gene Ulm of Public Opinion Strategies will conduct polling, Russ Schriefer of Strategic Media Partners will oversee advertising, and Brian Walsh of Rokk Solutions will serve as communications adviser. (Hotline reporting)

EYE OF THE STORM. In the midst of the second winter storm hitting the East Coast in recent days, Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton (R) made an appearance on the Weather Channel alongside meteorologist Jim Cantore. (Connecticut Post)

ENDORSEMENT. Former state Rep. Penny Bacchiochi (R) endorsed her past rival, former Comptroller Dave Walker (R).

Both ran in 2014 for lieutenant governor in a race that became contentious at times. At one point, Bacchiochi, whose husband is black, implied Walker was a racist in a radio interview. She later apologized.

Walker: “It says a lot about the fact that once rivals can come together for the good of the state and the party. Penny and I have kind of always gotten along. Look, an assertion was made and it was misreported and she apologized. I accepted her apology and we’ve moved on.” (Hartford Courant)
