Former state Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff (D) “has moved his congressional campaign from the old 11th District to the new 9th District, which covers most of Berks, Lebanon, Schuylkill, Carbon and Columbia counties, and parts of Montour, Northumberland and Luzerne counties. The change comes as a result of the state Supreme Court’s decision to redraw district lines it ruled were unconstitutionally gerrymandered.”

Wolff: “It needed to happen. This district is (now) more condensed, like it should be. The timing makes it a little more interesting for us. It’s challenging getting petitions signed. The timing makes that part of our plan a little bit more challenging, but we are doing OK.”

Wolff will face dentist Gary Wegman (D) in the May primary. (Reading Eagle)

On the TV. Also running in the 9th, former state Revenue Secretary Dan Meuser (R) released his first TV ad. The 30-second ad, called “Local Roots,” emphasized the candidate’s long-time roots in the community and his support for President Trump. (release)
