Sen. Joe Manchin (D) “said he believes President Donald Trump would support a bill from him and” Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) "to expand background checks on gun sales.”

“Manchin said between Trump's varied signals on guns, he thinks there is reason to believe the President would back the legislation and could be the key mover for the bill.”

“But he said if a provision from” Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) “to ban some semiautomatic weapons were included in broader legislation containing his proposal, it would kill his background check measure.” (CNN)

NEW AD. State Attorney General Patrick Morrisey (R) released a new digital ad slamming Rep. Evan Jenkins (R-03) as a "liberal in hiding." Morrisey also launched anti-Jenkins website, www.liberalinhiding.com. (release)
