Gov. Larry Hogan (R), armed with a 63-26 percent approval rating, led three hypothetical general-election challengers in a new Mason Dixon Polling & Strategy survey (Feb. 20-22; 625 RVs; +/-4%).

Hogan vs. Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker (D): 51-36%
Hogan vs. Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz (D): 49-34%
Hogan vs. former NAACP President Ben Jealous (D): 50-33%

“While more than half of the state’s Democratic voters approve of Hogan’s job performance, only about one-in-three are currently inclined to re-elect him. As the Democratic primary race progresses and his potential general election opponents become more familiar to Democrats, it will be a challenge for Hogan to hold his current cross-over vote.” (release)

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D) will formalize his endorsement of state Sen. Richard Madaleno (D) at a rally Friday. (WAMU) “Raskin, a former state lawmaker who worked with Madaleno in Annapolis to abolish the death penalty, pass marriage equality, increase the minimum wage and toughen gun laws, said his former colleague is the best candidate to take on … Hogan in the general election.” (Washington Post)
