Loudoun County teacher Deep Sran (D) ended his campaign against Rep. Barbara Comstock (R). “Sran is the founder and education lead at Loudoun School for the Gifted in Ashburn. He said he will continue to work for true education reform through innovation and greater equity, and to work for more a representative government that engages minority and marginalized communities.” There are still 10 Democrats left in the race, including state Sen. Jennifer Wexton (D) and Army veteran Daniel Helmer (D). (Loudoun Now)

ON THE ISSUES. “Wexton has called on” Comstock “to cut ties with a conservative group formed in the early 90s to defend Clarence Thomas against sexual harassment allegations from Anita Hill. The Independent Women’s Forum’s skepticism of the #MeToo movement and sexual harassment training undercuts Comstock’s support for victims of sexual harassment, according to Wexton.”

“Comstock countered that Wexton defended Fairfax County Supervisor John W. Foust when in his 2014 race against Comstock, he questioned whether the congresswoman had ‘ever had a real job.’” (Washington Post)
