Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) last week said he wasn’t ready to endorse in the Democratic primary but “liked” Baker and attorney Jim Shea (D).
O’Malley: “Rushern Baker and I worked together very closely when I was governor and he did an actually outstanding job. He and his state’s attorney, Angela Alsobrooks at the time, they achieved some really impressive reductions in violent crime, auto theft, many other things. So he’s a very accomplished, very experienced executive and we would be well-governed with him, with Rushern Baker or Jim Shea, and I would also vote for any of the other Democrats before I would vote for [Gov.] Larry Hogan (R).” (WBAL)
