Former federal prosecutor Conor Lamb (D) released his third television ad, blasting Speaker Paul Ryan for his plans to cut Medicare and Social Security. “People paid for it. They worked hard for it,” Lamb says in the 30-second spot. “They expect us to keep our promises to them.” (release)

SHOW OF SUPPORT. In a speech to House Democrats, Vice President Joe Biden touted Lamb, and suggested he could win the March 13 special election to replace former Rep. Tim Murphy (R). (Hotline reporting)

ON THE ISSUES. “In a recent panel on parental opioid addiction, flagged by the liberal American Bridge PAC,” state Rep. Rick Saccone (R) “raised a question about constituents who might not want to be held responsible for the health problems of others.

Saccone: “What about the constituents who would say, ‘Look, it’s not the taxpayers, it’s not the rest of us’ responsibility to pay for that—it’s the grand—it’s family’s responsibility to take away, when they’ve had a family crisis, to take responsibility for these actions and step up and do that. It’s not for the taxpayers themselves to step in and pay for that, necessarily.” (Daily Beast)
