Klarides Won’t Run for Governor

Nearly all of the Republicans are opposed to tax hikes.

State House Minority Leader Themis Klarides (R) “ended months of speculation about her political ambitions Wednesday, telling her caucus she would forgo a run for governor in 2018 and focus on trying to win a GOP majority in the House.” (Connecticut Mirror)

TOLLS. Gov. Dannel Malloy (D) “suggested electronic tolling on highways to raise transportation funds, but Republican challengers are mostly against the idea. New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart (R), however, said she was open to the concept but only if the toll money would be “going back into our roads and our bridge repairs.” (Hartford Courant)
