CA-22: Fresno County District Attorney prosecutor Andrew Janz (D) released a Public Policy Polling survey (Jan. 10-11; 560 voters; +/- 4.1%) showing a generic Democrat beating Nunes by 5 points, 50 percent to 45 percent. The poll showed 61 percent of independents supposed a generic Democrat. (release)

CA-26: Pro-Trump actor Antonio Sabato Jr. “is best known as a soap opera star and Calvin Klein underwear model. But parts of his acting career are raising eyebrows among some conservatives as the Republican and early supporter of President Trump runs for Congress in California. Some Republicans in his district, which includes most of Ventura County and has been represented by” Rep. Julia Brownley (D) “since 2013, are saying movie roles in which Sabato simulated sex with a man and appeared nude disqualify him from representing the GOP.” (Los Angeles Times) The district leans heavily Democratic and backed Hillary Clinton by 21 points.

CA-39: Actors Eva Longoria and George Lopez endorsed lottery winner Gil Cisneros’s (D) bid for retiring Rep. Ed Royce’s (R) seat in a new digital ad. “The greatest thing about Gil is that he didn’t ask to run for Congress, we asked him,” Longoria said in the ad. “Gil has a very big heart, that’s the first thing you notice when you meet him.” Longoria is the co-founder of the Latino Victory Project. (release)

On the Republican side, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-48) endorsed Orange County Supervisor Shawn Nelson’s (D) campaign to replace Royce. In a statement, he said Nelson would bring a “strong Conservative agenda to support every hard working American.” (Los Angeles Times)

CA-45: 2016 challenger Greg Raths (R), the Mission Viejo Mayor Pro Tem announced he is exploring a run for Rep. Mimi Walters’ (R) seat. A Marine Corps veteran, Raths served as chief of staff and CFO at the White House Military Office from 1996 to 1999. Raths earned 19 percent of the vote in 2016 and 24 percent in a 2014 open-seat race, coming within four points of making a top-two runoff against Walters. (Twitter) Several Democrats are running for the seat, including law professor Dave Min (D), housing bubble whistleblower Katie Porter (D) and former Obama technology adviser Brian Forde (D).

CA-48: Businessman Harley Rouda (D) released a digital ad linking Rohrabacher to Trump and Vladimir Putin. “Donald Trump and Dana Rohrabacher continue taking us backwards, siding with Vladimir Putin over American interests,” Rouda says in the 30-second spot. (release) Stem cell biologist Hans Keirstead (D) is also in the race.

CA-50: “A source close to” Rep. Darrell Issa (R-49) “said on Friday that … Issa has no plans to challenge” Rep. Duncan Hunter (R) “for his seat in the House of Representatives. That could change if Hunter’s seat became vacant. Should that happen, the source said that Issa would strongly consider the option of running for the seat.” (Breitbart News)
