State Sen. Catherine Miranda (D) announced a primary challenge of Rep. Ruben Gallego (D). “In this divided climate, you deserve someone who will work for you. You deserve someone who will put partisan politics aside, and get things done,” she said in a statement.

“Last year, Miranda made headlines twice: Once for being involved in a drunk-driving accident and another when she claimed that someone broke into her office and left a bloody glove on her porch.”

In a statement, Gallego said he is “eager to have an opportunity to demonstrate the difference between a progressive fighting for working people and an anti-choice, corporate-sponsored politician who endorsed Doug Ducey and stood by while he gutted public education.” (KTAR)
