Ex-Clinton Adviser Enters Race

Sara Jacobs is the fourth Democrat to challenge Issa.

Former Hillary Clinton Adviser Sara Jacobs (D) announced she’s will challenge Rep. Darrell Issa (R) in 2018. “Jacobs, who is 28, spent 10 months working in two departments in the United Nations, nine months at UNICEF and then 19 months as a conflict and stabilization officer in the State Department. She later worked for Hillary Clinton’s campaign for president before becoming the CEO of a non-profit organization that works to increase internet access for educational purposes around the world.”

“Jacobs, the granddaughter of Qualcomm co-founder and philanthropist Irwin Jacobs, grew up in Del Mar and moved to Encinitas a month ago after working in New York and Washington, D.C., she said.” (San Diego Union-Tribune)

Also in the race: 2016 nominee Doug Applegate (D), environmental attorney Mike Levin (D), and real estate investor Paul Kerr (D).
