While the Steve Bannon-tied Great America Alliance PAC is backing Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-07), former Rep. Stephen Fincher (R) “seemed open to some of” Bannon’s “reported demands, which include opposing [Senate Majority Leader Mitch] McConnell (R-KY) and changing the rules of the Senate from requiring 60 votes on most legislation to 50.”

When asked if he would support McConnell as leader, Fincher said, “I’m going to do what Tennesseans want.” Asked about changing the filibuster, Fincher said he was “very much leaning toward going to a simple majority vote.” (National Journal)

ON THE TEAM. “Fincher has hired veteran Republican fundraiser Kim Kaegi. … Kaegi has worked as a fundraising consultant for Gov. Bill Haslam (R) and Sens. Lamar Alexander (R) and Bob Corker (R).” (Politico)
