FAKE NEWS. “A controversial website that brands itself as a ‘news company’ but is sponsored by the partisan Republican Governor Association is touting the ‘indisputable accomplishments’ of Gov. Charlie Baker (R) — who sits on the RGA’s executive committee — while criticizing his Democratic rivals. Since launching this summer, the ‘Free Telegraph’ has written at least one post on the Bay State’s 2018 gubernatorial race, writing in a headline that state Democrats are ‘notably underwhelmed’ by their choices — and linking to a Boston Globe article that doesn’t include the phrase and is more than five months old. … Jim Conroy, Baker’s top political aide, said Baker was not aware of the RGA website, and that he doesn’t consult with its staff on ‘communications strategies.’” (Boston Herald)
