The NRCC’s $60 million raised in the first half of 2017, with $24.1 million of that haul coming in the second quarter, marks its best first six-month fundraising ever. “At this point, the NRCC has $33.7 million cash on hand, more than double any previous off-year election June. Credit goes to” Speaker Paul Ryan, “who has turned over $21.7 million of his fundraising efforts to the NRCC, and the committee’s” Chairman Rep. Steve Stivers (OH-15). (Washington Examiner)

And the two are continuing to fundraise. Ryan will be in Nantucket Thursday evening to raise money for Team Ryan, his joint fundraising effort. Tickets start at $2,500 and $10,000 gets you a photo.” (Politico) Meanwhile, Stivers “announced at a retreat over the weekend that he is instituting a new push to extract more cash from Republicans on K Street. He has asked” Rep. Ann Wagner (R-MO 02), “who recently passed on a Senate bid, to lead the effort.” (Politico)

RECRUITMENT. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is showing increased interest in working with the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition to coordinate candidate recruitment and mentoring. But “some Democratic activists aren’t pleased the party is embracing the Blue Dogs. Liberals aren’t keen on promoting candidates who may oppose traditional Democratic views on abortion rights, gun control and many other policies, saying those candidates will lose to Republicans.” (Bloomberg Politics)
