2016 challenger Michael Eggman (D) won’t make a third attempt to unseat Rep. Jeff Denham (R), instead launching a federal PAC, called Red to Blue California, to flip the seven House seats that Hillary Clinton won in 2016.

“‘I ran twice, and I don’t see a third time in me,’ he said. ‘If I can put the same amount of energy that I put into my own campaign into the seven congressional races, wouldn’t that be a better show of my resiliency?’ … I figure I’m still taking the fight to not only Jeff Denham,’ but other Republican incumbents, as well.”

Eggman, who lost by 4 points last November, said he plans to raise $7 million and divide it evenly among the districts, which are held by Denham and Reps. Darrell Issa (R-49), Dana Rohrabacher (R-48), Mimi Walters (R-45), Steve Knight (R-25), David Valadao (R-21), and Ed Royce (R-39). Clinton won Denham’s seat by 3 points. (Politico/release)

Eggman is not the only California Democrat to launch such a group. Former Rep. Ellen Tauscher (D-10) has begun a PAC, called Fight Back California, that also aims to flip these seven seats.

HELPING HAND. Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL 18) will headline a fundraiser for his colleague Rohrabacher, “who has drawn criticism for pro-Russia comments and for suggesting the United States should work with ISIS against mutual enemies. … The $200 per person fundraiser on Sunday offers guests an opportunity to meet Mast, described in the invitation as a ‘great American hero.’” (Palm Beach Post)
