Former CIA intelligence officer Jeff Beals (D) announced a run against Rep. John Faso (R) on Friday at the Ulster County Courthouse. A former history teacher and one of the longest-serving diplomats in the Iraq War, Beals “laid out a grassroots-focused ‘Eleven County Strategy’ as well a series of citizen-led forums on issues including healthcare, agriculture and small business.” (release)

ON BOARD. VoteVets backed former Army officer Pat Ryan’s (D) bid to unseat Faso, touting Ryan’s “technology firm that equipped troops with innovative tools to track battlefield events in real time.” (release)
