Poll: Villaraigosa Gains on Newsom

Cox and Hadley are splitting the Republican vote.

Former Los Angeles May­or Ant­o­nio Vil­larai­gosa (D) “has pulled to with­in 5 per­cent­age points of” Lt. Gov. Gav­in New­s­om (D), 22-17 per­cent, “ac­cord­ing to the sur­vey from UC Berke­ley’s In­sti­tute of Gov­ern­ment­al Stud­ies” (May 4-29; 885 LVs; +/-3.3%).

Busi­ness­man John Cox (R) and former As­sembly­man Dav­id Had­ley (R) pulled 9 and 8 per­cent re­spect­ively, while state Treas­urer John Chi­ang (D), former state schools Su­per­in­tend­ent Delaine East­in (D) trailed in the mid-to-low single di­gits. (Sac­ra­mento Bee)
