Democrats in New Hampshire and Nevada on Monday and Tuesday called on likely 2018 GOP gubernatorial candidates to weigh in on Republicans’ federal health care overhaul plan.
New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley: “24 million Americans are projected to lose coverage in the next ten years under Trumpcare. Any plan that hikes rates and kicks tens of millions off their coverage should be denounced in loud terms but Governor [Chris] Sununu has yet to provide his opinion on how the specifics in this bill will impact Granite Staters.” (release)
Nevada Democratic Party spokesperson Stewart Boss: “With Republicans preparing to gut the Affordable Care Act, the most nakedly partisan Attorney General in Nevada history [Adam Laxalt (R)] now suddenly wants voters to forget that he ran for office as a right-wing crusader against the ACA. … While Laxalt is pre-occupied with plotting his next political campaign, hundreds of thousands of people in our state are worried this GOP plan could rip away their access to health care. Nevadans deserve to know whether Adam Laxalt is going to stand up to protect low-income families or fight to help his billionaire mega-donors like Sheldon Adelson get a fat tax cut.” (release)
