The Club for Growth endorsed state Treasurer Josh Mandel’s (R) bid against Sen. Sherrod Brown (D).

Club President David McIntosh: “Josh’s efforts to cut taxes at the state and local levels, his opposition to Obamacare expansion in Ohio, and his work to make the Buckeye State the best in the country for transparency in state spending all show the credentials of a proven economic conservative who will fight for taxpayers in Washington.” (release)

WEIGHING IN. Rep. Jim Renacci (R-16) “is ‘strongly considering’ a 2018 run for a statewide office, such as governor or U.S. Senate.” According to spokesman James Slepian, “Renacci has yet to decide if he’s going to run statewide, and if so, for which office. The spokesman said he didn’t know when the lawmaker will make a decision.” (Cleveland Plain Dealer)
